Immersion

Essay: Is using video and snapshots effective in explaining the experience of immersion? What are your solutions?

Videos and snapshots can give an introduction to the experience of immersion, but I think in order to truly convey the experience of immersion, an immersive experience must be created. A story must be told. Watching a video and looking at photos is a passive experience, and to truly portray an immersive experience, there must be a form of interaction. This could be through video with write on graphics, but sometimes it is even more effective to create an article or webpage in which a user can interact with scrolling, clicking and more. This could be a written article that includes video, photos, sound, moving pictures, maps, graphics and more as you scroll and move through the article.  Check out these examples to see what I mean:
